At The Conference People we have high expectations for environmental management and human rights in the workplace in essence this means treating people fairly and preserving the environment. As a responsible company, our duties extend globally towards people, the environment and society. This is how we aim to build a sustainable company and, just as importantly, manage sustainable events. We ask our clients and suppliers to join us in the efforts.
We are working closely on these issues and our aim is to raise awareness of these responsibilities. Here are a few examples of how your next event could be a success for your business, the environment and of course, your people.
What is a Green Event?
Broad guidelines for a greener event are that it should be organised electronically, minimise carbon emissions for travelling delegates and speakers, save energy, practice recycling, and adopt environmentally-thoughtful measures wherever practical and possible.Online Registration
Our online Delegate Management System provides a total paperless, planet friendly system. Delegates register online and receive all communication from our organising office electronically, including maps, directions and final joining instructions.For those delegates unable to access a PC we can offer a fax back system or a registration using recycled paper.
Green Venues
Choose hotels and other venues where environmental responsibility is top-down policy. Our constantly updated database of venues contains over 35,000 suitable venues worldwide and, whilst our search remains independent, we are aware of the greenest venues so we can match the right venue for your meeting.You could even Stage an event in a venue which implicitly expresses your identification with green concerns.
One example might be Kew Gardens because of its work for the conservation and preservation of plants; another might be the London Wetland Centre at Barnes.
The ‘Reds Go Green’ initiative by Manchester United (their Old Trafford stadium features meeting rooms and corporate hospitality suites) includes: match day waste management; glass recycling; the re-use of old tyres and sports shoes for all-weather pitches; and wildlife conservation and environmental education at their training ground in Cheshire.
