Amsterdam is the Netherlands’ capital, known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the city’s 17th-century Golden Age. Its Museum District houses the Van Gogh Museum, works by Rembrandt and Vermeer at the Rijksmuseum, and modern art at the Stedelijk. Cycling is key to the city’s character, and there are over 400kms of cycle paths.
Whilst there is a hotel for every budget in Amsterdam – there are 14 five star hotels! These include the Hilton, NH Collection, Sheraton, Hotel Okura and the Intercontinental. One of our favourite five star hotels is the Waldorf Astoria which is a collection of six 17th century canal palaces on the Herengracht. It’s got 93 unique rooms, lofts and suites – and the Hooft Ballroom can accommodate up to 100 theatre style.
For something a little less opulent, but still beautiful – how about the Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam. This beautiful building is just a five minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. With 298 bedrooms, and 9 meeting rooms – the largest of which can accommodate up to 130 theatre style – it’s no wonder that this is a popular conference hotel!
If you’re looking for something a little different – then Amsterdam has that too! How about the Bartolotti House; one of the most well-preserved canal houses in Amsterdam! A large, beautifully decorated house at the Herengracht was built around 1620. Recently, the building was completely renovated, including its magnificent murals and ceiling paintings. All rooms have their own unique atmosphere. Of the five rooms available for meetings, the largest, De Zaal, can accommodate up to 70 guests for a meeting.
If you’re looking for a venue for a larger meeting, then the RAI Amsterdam is perfect; with 112,200m2 of hireable space – it’s the largest conference centre in the Netherlands. With 12 multi-functional halls, a congress and theatre hall, a Ballroom in the Elicium, 24 conference rooms, 46 meeting rooms and a 4,000 space covered parking area – this really does have something for everyone!
