Venue Finding Services Belfast

Belfast is at the western end of Belfast Lough and at the mouth of the River Lagan giving it the ideal location for the ship building industry that once made it famous. When the Titanic was built in Belfast in 1911-1912, Harland and Wolff had the largest shipyard in the world – to this day it has the world’s largest dry dock.

It’s a fantastic, exciting and busy city – it attracts over 7 million visitors each year! For the business visitor, there are so many venues to choose from. From the 5* Fitzwilliam and Hastings Culloden Hotels to the Hilton, Malmaison, Hampton by Hilton, Jury’s Inn and Park Inn by Radisson.

The stunning Fitzwilliam Hotel is right in the city centre. An elegant boutique hotel with a small boardroom, perfect for those high-level executive events. Recent investment saw the hotel increase its bedrooms from 113 to 150 including the fabulous Residence, a two bedroomed suite on the 8th floor.

The Hastings Culloden Hotel is on the outskirts of Belfast, about 20 minutes by road, and it worth the short journey. Set high on the slopes of the Holywood Hills, overlooking Belfast Lough and the County Antrim coastline – the castle like entrance is a sight to behold. With seven meeting rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 800 theatre style and 98 bedrooms including 20 suites – this is a popular hotel for meetings and events.

If you’re looking for a venue which isn’t a hotel – and for something completely different – the Crumlin Road Gaol is an interesting setting for events. With the largest room accommodating 240 guests, the Lanyon Suite was formerly the prison chapel providing prisoners a welcome break from their cells each morning. Built between 1843 – 1845 as a replacement for the county gaol on Antrim Street, the Crumlin Road Gaol was a prison up until 1996. The Gaol Circle and C Wing can accommodate up to 160 theatre style and is probably the most interesting space, once a steel fortress at the heart of over 500 cells, Guards kept watch from the Gaol Circle.

Another unusual venue; HMS Caroline in the heart of Belfast’s Titanic Quarter, just minutes from Belfast City Centre. Perfect for formal and casual evening events, parties, product launches and incentive groups all year round. Full restored spaces, hands on contemporary exhibits and four dedicated meeting spaces. For a reception for up to 500 guests, you can hire the entire ship!

For large events; and those including accommodation in the summer months, then the stunning Queens University Belfast might just be perfect for you. With the Sir William Whitla Hall being able to accommodate up to 1200 theatre style – this room provides an impressive backdrop to your event. For a smaller event, the spectacular The Great Hall can comfortably seat up to 170 guests. The beautiful The Elmwood Hall can easily seat 478 guests. It is a flat floored open space with balcony seating. You really are spoilt for choice for venues at the Queen’s University Belfast. If you’re looking to create your own ‘campus’ event – the venue has 1500 en-suite bedrooms available outside of term time too.

Belfast is compact, so getting around the city is easy on foot, by bike or by taxi. However, if you want to wander a little further afield, then there’s a network of transport options available.

As you can see – we could talk about Belfast all day – but hopefully the above has whet your appetite – to find out more…
