Venue Finding Services in Oxford

Oxford is probably most well-known for being home to the University of Oxford. There is evidence of teaching as far back as 1096, making it the oldest university in the English speaking world and the world’s second oldest university in continuous operation.

One of our favourite venues in Oxford is the Ashmolean Museum. The world’s oldest public museum is home to incredibly rich and diverse collections ranging from Egyptian mummies to Pre-Raphaelite paintings to contemporary art. It’s located in the hard of Oxford too, making it really easy to get to – only a 10 minute walk from the train station. It’s a spectacular setting for a variety of events. It can seat up to 160 theatre style for a meeting, but up to 900 for a dinner.

Alongside the big name hotels, like Jurys Inn, Holiday Inn, Macdonald, Hampton by Hilton and Malmaison sits a host of academic venues such as the Examinations Schools which can seat up to 440 delegates, the Sheldonian Theatre which can seat up to 750 delegates and Osler House, an art deco building with capacity for up to 80 guests.

Just a little way out of the city centre is a conference venue which is a little different. The Williams F1 Conference Centre. With 10 rooms of varying sizes, accommodating up to 200 delegates in the Ayrton Senna Suite – it provides excellent event facilities in an inspirational surrounding.

Back to the city centre and getting around; it’s got an excellent bus service. The main stop is on Magdalen Street. What about hiring a bike? The city is virtually flat and there are a number of places where you can hire bikes at reasonable rates.
